Solent to Solent: Walking for Carers raises funds for the 2027 Rose Road Carers Awards

October 2026

From 2 to 4 October, my son Jim and his friends Cal, Ben & Richie took on Solent to Solent: Walking for Carers, a three-day walk of roughly 80km in aid of Caring 4 Our Carers.

Setting out from Totton, the group walked to Lymington, took the ferry across to Yarmouth, and carried on to Niton on the Isle of Wight before finishing the final stretch from Niton to Cowes.

So far they have raised £785, which will go towards funding next year's (2027) Rose Road Carers Awards. A huge thank you to everyone who has sponsored them.

The fundraising page is still open if you'd like to donate:

Next year is also a special one for Rose Road, they will be celebrating their 75th anniversary. Keep an eye on this page for future updates and fundraising events.

Richard wins the top prize at the 2026 Rose Road Staff Awards

September 2026

Congratulations to Richard Coleman, this year's overall winner at the Rose Road Staff Awards. Richard received multiple nominations from colleagues, praised for his kindness, professionalism and willingness to go above and beyond for the people he supports and the colleagues he works alongside. As the top prize winner, Richard will enjoy a stay at Casa Mama Mia, Caring 4 Our Carers's own respite retreat in Portugal, fully funded by C4OC. His trip is planned for 2027, with exact dates still to be confirmed.

"He is the kindest person! He helps everyone he can and is happy to do so." - Rose Road Staff nomination

Richard was recognised for consistently demonstrating kindness, going the extra mile and making a positive difference to those around him.

Caring 4 Our Carers donates £500 to fund the 2026 Rose Road Staff Awards

September 2026

This September, C4OC proudly donated £500 to the Rose Road Association to help fund the 2026 Staff Awards, continuing the close partnership between the two charities. The awards are a chance to properly celebrate the carers who go above and beyond every single day, and this year's ceremony was another wonderful, uplifting occasion for everyone involved.

A number of staff went home with well-deserved gift voucher prizes, and the overall winner, Richard Coleman, took home the top prize: a fully funded stay at Casa Mama Mia, C4OC's own respite retreat in Portugal (see above). It's donations like this that make it possible for Rose Road to keep recognising the incredible people behind its care, and C4OC is honoured to play a part in that."

"Thank you so much for your kind donation towards our Staff Awards, and for your ongoing support of Rose Road, we really appreciate it." - Michelle Bowdidge, Interim Head of Fundraising and Communications, Rose Road Association

Brian & Lesley fund a special meal for Katy & Ben’s stay at Casa Mama Mia

September 2026

Brian & Lesley are longtime friends of the family behind C4OC, and when they heard Katy and Ben were heading out to Casa Mama Mia, they wanted to do something to make the trip a little more special. Their kind donation went towards a lovely meal out during the stay, a small but heartfelt gesture that meant Katy & Ben could enjoy an evening out together without a second thought. It's exactly the kind of generosity that makes the C4OC community what it is, friends and supporters always looking for ways to add a bit of extra joy to the experiences we help create.

"We exist because of the generosity of such wonderful kind people, such as Brian and Lesley" - Daz & Alex, Caring For Our Carers

Katy & Ben win the 2026 Family Award and enjoy a stay at Casa Mama Mia

September 2026

Katy & Ben, whose family is supported by the Rose Road Association, were the winners of this year's Family Award, with their prize a fully funded break at Casa Mama Mia, C4OC's own respite retreat in Portugal.

After a long wait through busy airport queues and passport control, the pair touched down safely and wasted no time settling in, enjoying lunch and an afternoon relaxing by the pool. Katy & Ben were said to be thoroughly excited ahead of the trip.

Caring 4 Our Carers are already looking at ways to raise even more so next year's Family Award winners can enjoy the same experience.

"I know they were so excited to be there. Please ask them to bring some sunshine back though!" - Michelle Bowdidge, Interim Head of Fundraising and Communications, Rose Road Association

Radcliffe & Co's generous gift secures next year's Rose Road Carers Awards

July 2026

This month we received an incredible donation from Radcliffe & Co Life & Pensions that will make a real difference to carers and families supported by the Rose Road Association. The gift secures our ability to sponsor the Rose Road Carers Awards again in 2026, providing vouchers for those recognised for outstanding caring achievements, and will fund two further respite holidays for Rose Road carers and families in 2027.

"This type of generosity humbles us and reminds us of the amazing qualities of people outside our sector who help us achieve our goals by caring in another way, supporting us financially. Thank you so much guys – you are the best." - Daz & Alex, Caring For Our Carers

"This is incredible news, thank you so much! This means so much to Rose Road and to the staff and families." - Michelle Bowdidge, Interim Head of Fundraising and Communications, Rose Road Association

Supporter's private celebration raises over £800 for respite care

April 2026

In April 2026, a private celebration hosted by one of our supporters became an unexpected source of support for carers and families linked to Rose Road. Guests chose to make donations in lieu of gifts, raising over £800 for Caring For Our Carers. We're enormously grateful to everyone who contributed. It's a brilliant example of how personal celebrations can be turned into meaningful support for people who need it most.

Aaron Phipps opens the 2025 Rose Road Carers Awards

September 2025

We were delighted to have Aaron Phipps open the Rose Road Carers Awards staff day in September 2025, spending the afternoon running team-building and communication exercises with staff in a 'Taskmaster'-style session. Caring For Our Carers was proud to sponsor the prizes for the awards themselves: vouchers for staff recognised for outstanding caring achievements, along with two 2-person respite holidays awarded through nominations from Rose Road.

"We also had the epic Aaron Phipps open the day for us and spent the afternoon 'taskmastering' to build communication and teamwork skills. Amazing day and we're so grateful to you both for your contribution." - Beth Rogers, Head of Fundraising, Rose Road Association
